Deborah Jeane Palfrey is the woman dubbed as “D.C. Madam” by the media. She ran an escort agency in Washington, D.C. called Pamela Martin and Associates from the early 90s until 2006. Her sub contracted escorts consisted of some college students, graduates, and professional working women, charging upwards of $300 an hour.
Her prostitution business ran as a legitimate escort service for about 13 years, until government investigation finally led to her being charged for racketeering and money laundering. Before official sentencing, Palfrey faces a maximum of 55 years in prison. In aid of legal defense, Palfrey released the information of her clients to the public. Some of these clients were powerful and influential people in government, education, and society.
On May 1, 2008, Palfrey was found dead, hanging in a shed. Her death was medically ruled as a suicide and no foul play has been suspected by police. She left behind two suicide notes, addressed to her mother and sister. Palfrey had exhibited suicidal tendencies in the past during the time she served 18 months in prison. Nonetheless, there is a conspiracy theory that her death was a murder and not a suicide. Conspiracy theorists point out that Palfrey had mentioned being afraid for her life and that she was afraid of being killed. She exclaimed to Alex Jones at Infowars.com that she would go to court, defend herself, and expose the government. There may be new information revealed as current evidence goes under scrutiny by examiners.

One of D.C. Madame’s former employees – Brandy Britton was also found hanging, and the Madame believed she was murdered. It is also highly unlikely that women hang themselves, they usually take pills. D.C. Madame also told several people that someone was following her, and that if she was found dead that it wouldn’t be a suicide.
