Olivia Munn is a beautiful and talented woman who has made her mark on virtually every aspect of the entertainment world. She is a model, actress, as well as a popular television personality. Many of us remember her from her earlier days of modeling, although back then she was known as Lisa Munn (Lisa being her true first name). It was not until 2006 that she took her middle name – Olivia, and became known nationwide as Olivia Munn.

Lisa Olivia Munn was born on July 2nd, 1982 in Oklahoma. Her parents – Kim and Sam Munn divorced when Olivia was very young, and it was not until she was two years old that her mother married an officer in the Air Force. Due to her stepfather’s military career, Munn and her family made several moves and lived in several different areas – but she spent most of her adolescent life in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo in Japan.

Ever since childhood Olivia knew that she wanted to act or perform in some way. She was a natural, and by her teenager years she had blossomed into a confident young lady, unafraid of anything or anyone. She knew it would be a challenge to achieve the dream she wanted – but she was ready to take whatever came head on.

She started off her career by performing in several local theater productions. Her unique and beautiful looks opened up doors in the field of modeling – and she rose to the challenge. Inheriting her mother’s distinct Oriental features gave Olivia the look that the modeling agencies needed for some of their top Japanese fashion clients.

In later years Munn became a successful model booking campaigns with prestigious clients such as Pepsi, Neutrogena, and Nike. In 2006 she was on the cover of the September edition of Foam magazine, the August edition of Men’s Edge magazine, and was featured in the November edition of Complex magazine. Munn was featured as “Babe of the Month” in Playboy magazine (in a non-nude pictorial). She was also in the July/August edition of Men’s Health magazine and was featured in Vanity Fair’s “Hot Young Hollywood” edition making 2007 also a big year.

Although Munn’s modeling career had skyrocketed and would continue to – she longed to pursue her dream of acting. In order to pursuit this dream she decided to venture off to the one place that could help kick start her acting career – Los Angeles, California.
She received her first break in 2004 while interning at Fox Sports Net. There she worked as a sideline reporter for women’s basketball and college football. Despite her ability and success it was something that did not interest her at that time. During a later interview she was asked to share her experience when she arrived at Fox. Munn explained, “I was trying to be something I wasn’t, and that made me really uncomfortable on live TV.”

It was around this time that she was given a small part in the horror film Scarecrow Gone Wild – which skipped the theatre and went straight to video. She also starred in the movie Road to Canyon Lake. Late in 2005 she was given another role to play in the television drama Beyond the Break – which was playing on The N network. In two seasons of the show she played Milly Acuna – a teen surfer. This was an enjoyable role for her, and one that she could easily relate to because she loves to surf.
After her internship with Fox Sports ended Munn was offered to host G4’s Attack of the Show. She was to take the place of Sarah Lane and Brendan Moran who had just gotten married. On April 10th of 2006 she debuted in show alongside her co-host Kevin Pereira. However, it wasn’t an easy thing for her. Attack of the Show was all about the world of video games and many fans were worried that Munn was hired only for her beauty and would not be able to pull it off.

Munn admitted that video games were a “weak point” for her – but that didn’t slow her down. She was determined to prove herself. Her charm and her knowledge of all things technical (yes, she is a bit geeky) quickly made her a hit on the show, and a favorite among the fans. Her secret? “I’m a sarcastic person,” she stated during an interview. “I’m bringing a different angle to the show. A new look, a new breath…I’m focused on doing the job and doing it great.”

On the show Munn was given her own segment, with journalist Anna David, called “In Your Pants”. During this part of the show they both work together to answer questions that viewers have submitted about relationships and sex. Attack of the Show helped to truly jump start Munn’s career and inspired her to do more.

While still working on Attack of the Show Olivia Munn hosted a program about American drift racing called Formula D (which is now a defunct program). She also hosts the Around the Net pod cast – which was previously known as The Daily Nut – for G4.

Munn loves hosting Attack of the Show and being able to show the geeky/sarcastic side of her. Yet, she still pursued her dream to land a role on the big screen. Her chance came when was asked to play a role in the up and coming movie Big Stan. This will be her official debut into the Hollywood scene. She will be playing the receptionist, Maria, in this comedy directed by Rob Schneider – which will hit theaters April 25, 2008. Olivia Munn will also be playing in the up and coming horror film Insanitarium – which will be released sometime in 2008.

Olivia Munn has a busy life with a very hectic schedule – but this doesn’t keep her from truly living and doing the things she loves the most. She still loves to surf and tries to practice whenever she has free time. She is also faithful about auditioning for even more roles to obtain as much experience as she can and to keep up her dream of becoming a star.
